SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titan's softball team completed a doubleheader sweep over the Cal Poly Mustangs on Friday at the Bob Janssen Field.

Cal State Fullerton 4, Cal Poly 2

The Titans won the first game of the doubleheader over Cal Poly 4-2.

Bailey Wallace did it all offensively as she went 3-for-3 with 1 run and 4 RBIs.  Wallace hit her first collegiate home run to put the Titans up 3-0 in the third inning.

The Mustangs got two runs back in the fourth inning after an error to start the inning came back to haunt the Titans. The Mustangs scored one run on a sac fly and the second run on a base hit with two outs by Julia Barnett.

The Titans got a run back in the fifth inning after taking advantage of an error by the Mustangs defense.  Alexa Neil reached on a fielding error.  She stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher.  Bailey Wallace singled to score Alexa Neil and put the TItns up 4-2.

Cal Poly got two runners on in the final frame but Myka Sutherlin induced a groundout to first base that bounced off the bag to Daisy Munoz who ran to first for the final out.

Myka Sutherlin got the win and tossed a complete game.  She allowed two runs (unearned) on three walks, six hits, and struck out five.

The Mustangs scored three runs in the third to take the lead over the Titans.  After an illegal pitch was called on Hailey Rainey on what should've been a 4-3 groundout to start the inning, the leadoff hitter worked a walk instead.  She came around to score on a Jessica Clements double. Rainey hit the next batter and both runners advanced into scoring position on a groundout to second. Juju Sargent singled up the middle on an 11-pitch at bat that scored both runners to give the Mustangs the 3-2 lead. This was the first time the Titans had to play from behind since losing the first game of the series against CSUN.

The Titans added two more insurance runs in the seventh inning to take a 6-3 lead.  Daisy Munoz walked to start the inning and Hannah Becerra singled for a bunt to the pitcher who threw the ball wildly to first base that allowed both runners to be in scoring position.  Peyton Toto smacked a triple over the left fielder into the left field warning track to put the Titans on top 6-3.
