FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans softball team completed the series sweep of UC Santa Barbara on Saturday at Anderson Family Field.
The Titans won both games of the doubleheader on Saturday 11-1 in the second game and 5-0 in the final game. The Titans improved to 27-16 (14-4 BWC) and have won five straight series and eight games in a row.
The Titans outscored the Gauchos 23-2 for the weekend and outhit them 24-to-11.
The Titans won their 1,700th game in program history after winning the first game of Saturday's doubleheaders. The Titans are the eighth team in NCAA history to have 1,700 victories.

Cal State Fullerton 11, UC Santa Barbara 1 (Five Innings)
One big inning delivered the Titans a huge 11-1 victory over the Gauchos in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.
With a 2-0 lead, the Titans sent 14 batters to the plate in the fourth inning and scored 9 runs on seven hits and four walks to blow open an 11-run lead.
The Titans outhit the Gauchos 10-to-6 for the game. Hannah Becerra, Deshea Hill, and Anaiya Mitchell all had at least two hits and multiple RBIs in the game.

The Titans added another run in the third inning after Daisy Munoz doubled in Alexa Neil.

In the fourth inning, things went off the rails for the Gauchos pitching. Peyton Toto led the inning off with a base hit. Deshea Hill doubled her in to bring in a run.

The Titans loaded the bases with two outs and Daisy Munoz got an RBI walk to bring in a run. Hannah Becerra singled in two runs on a shallow bloop to center field.

The Titans loaded the bases again and Deshea Hill had an RBI walk to bring in a run. Evelyn Sablan singled to left field to drive in two runs.

Haley Rainey got the start and went 4 innings and allowed zero runs on four hits, two walks, and five strikeouts. Raci Miranda pitched the final inning in relief of Rainey.
Cal State Fullerton 5, UC Santa Barbara 0
The Titans defeated the Gauchos 5-0 in the final game of the series to complete the series sweep.
Myka Sutherlin tossed another six scoreless frames and struck out 4 Gauchos. Over her last six starts, Sutherlin has pitched 36.2 innings, 4 complete games, struck out 49 batters, and allowed just one run.
The Titans outhit the Gauchos 8-to-2 for the game and Deshea Hill led the offense with two hits and an RBI.
The Titans struck for two runs in the second inning. With two runners in scoring position, Evelyn Sablan doubled to right center to give the Titans a 2-0 lead.

The Titans added two more runs in the third inning. The Titans loaded the bases with one out. Hannah Becerra hit a line drive to the pitcher for the second out and she tried to double up the runner on third for a double play but instead launched it into foul territory which allowed the Titans to score two runs on the error.
In the sixth inning, the Titans got their final run of the series. Peyton Toto singled to the shortstop to give the Titans a runner. Deshea Hill hit her fourth double of the weekend to drive in Toto and give the Titans a 5-0 lead.

The Titans will head to Cal Poly next weekend. They wil play a doubleheader on Friday before wrapping up the series with one game on Saturday afternoon.
