FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans softball team defeated the UC Davis Aggies 2-0 in the series finale on Saturday at Anderson Family Field.
The Titans (14-13, 1-2 BWC) lost the series overall to the Aggies (15-8, 2-1 BWC) after dropping a doubleheader the previous night before.
Myka Sutherlin was fantastic in the circle as she threw her seventh complete game and her fourth shutout of the season. Sutherlin went seven innings and allowed just two hits, three walks, and struck out eight batters. Kenedi Brown took the loss for the Aggies after allowing two runs on four hits, two walks, and two strikeouts.
The Titans took an early lead after scoring in the first inning. Hannah Becerra reached on a fielder's choice and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Jessi Alcala singled Becerra in to give the Titans a 1-0 lead in the first inning.

The Titans added an insurance run in the third inning on Daisy Munoz's first home run of the season over the left field fence. Munoz is now tied for third in all time in RBIs in program history with 138 RBIs with Sue Lewis.

Sutherlin was throwing a no-hitter until the fifth inning when UC Davis led the inning off with a bunt single. However, Sutherlin struck out the side to end the frame for the Aggies in the fifth.

The Aggies started the seventh inning with the first two runners on board after a base hit and a walk. However, a line out double play wiped out the runner on first and Sutherlin induced a 5-3 putout to give the Titans the shutout victory.
The Titans are set to play at Loyola Marymount on Wednesday for a midweek game. However, there is rain on the forecast for Wednesday. The Titans will play their next Big West conference series at home when they take on the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners on Friday and Saturday.
