FULLERTON, Calif. - Associate Softball Head Coach Jorge Araujo and sophomore pitcher Raci Miranda headline the Mexico squad that will compete at the Women's Softball World Cup 2024 Americas Qualifier held in Guatemala.
Mexico will take on the Domican Republic in their first game on November 12th. They will take on Cuba on November 13th. They will face the WBSC team on November 14th. They will take on Nicaragua on November 15th and they will wrap up group play on November 16th against Peru and Canada.
Both Araujo and Miranda have competed with the Mexican National Team program all summer in Canada, Alabama, and in Mexico City.
The tournament comprises 14 teams with two groups of seven. Group A includes Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, USA, and Venezuela. Group B includes Canada, Cuba, The Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru and Team WBSC. The top four teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. The Top five teams left in the final standings will qualify for the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup. The group stage for the world cup is set to take place in 2023 in Ireland, Italy, and Spain and the final stage that will crown the world champion will take place in 2024 in Italy.

This tournament will also serve as the qualifier for the 2023 Santiago Pan American Games and the San Salvador Central American and Caribbean games. The top six teams from this tournament will qualify for the Pan American Games excluding Team USA who already qualified.
All games of the tournament will be live-streamed on the WBSC Americas Softball YouTube Channel.
