FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans softball team completed a three-game sweep of the Cal Poly Mustangs after winning the final game of the series by a score of 10-2 in a six-inning game at Anderson Family Field.

The Titans swept a Big West opponent for the fourth time this season after previously sweeping Cal State Bakersfield, CSUN, and UC Santa Barbara.  They moved to 34-16 on the season overall and 18-3 in conference play.  The Titans hold a three game lead over Long Beach State who are 15-6.

The Titans had easily their most dominant weekend of the season in the series against a surging Cal Poly (16-26, 11-10) who had won 10 of their last 12 conference games.  The Titans scored 30 runs, pounded out 38 hits, and held their opponents to just 2 runs for the weekend.  The Titans scored at least one run in 13 of 14 innings where they had an at-bat.

Megan Delgadillo (2-for 3 with 2 runs), Daisy Munoz (2-for-3 with 2 runs, 3 RBIs, 2 HRS), Antuanett Dean (2-for3 with 1 run), and Peyton Toto (1-for-4 with 1 run, 3 RBIs, 1 HR) led the offensive output for the game.

Raci Miranda continued her dominance in conference play after tossing a complete game, allowing five hits, 2 runs (1 earned), 1 walk, and fanning 5 batters.

The Titans struck for two in the first inning after Daisy Munoz hammered a 2 run homer over the LF wall.

They added 3 more in the 2nd to make it a 5-0 game.  After Alexa Neil walked and Antuanett Dean and Megan Delgadillo had base hits to load the bases.  Peyton Toto scored Neil on a RBI groundout.  Antuanett Dean scored on a passed ball.  And Jessi Alcala singled in Megan Delgadillo

The Titans made it a 6-0 ballgame in the third after some crazy baserunning by Hannah Becerra and mental mistakes by the Mustangs defense.  After Becerra led the inning off with a walk, Bailey Wallace had a bunt single to third base.  Becerra took a big lead rounding second and found herself in a rundown.  She eventually beat the tag by the diving Mustang shortstop to third base.  WIth a bunch of defenders hovering around third and no one covering home, Becerra broke for home to score on the play.

Cal Poly finally broke through the Titans pitching and defense for their first runs of the weekend in the fourth inning.  With runners on the corners, Hailey Prahm singled in a run to right field.  They added a second run after an infield error.

The Titans would add two more runs in the fifth inning to regain a 6-run advantage. Daisy Munoz hit her second home of the day and 7th of the season to lead off the inning.

Hannah Becerra was hit by a pitch, stole second, was sac bunted to third, and scored on a wild pitch.

The Titans walked it off in the sixth inning.  Peyton Toto launched a 2-run homerun over the left center fence to secure the 10-2 win and their third run-rule win of the weekend.

For their next series, the Titans head to the University of Hawai'i for the first time since 2018.  The Rainbow Wahine are in third place in the conference with a 13-8 record.  All games will be televised by Spectrum Sports in Hawaii and streamed on ESPN+ on the mainland.

NOTES: The Titans honored Taylor Dockins with her senior ceremony pre-game.  Dockins will graduate with a degree in communications in the Fall of 2022.  With her six stolen bases this weekend, Megan Delgadillo is now at 87 stolen bases for her career.  She is six steals behind the Titans all-time leader of Ari Williams career of 93.  With 30 home runs, Daisy Munoz has moved into 5th place all time ahead of Monica Lucatero (29). With her 122 RBIs, Munoz has moved into 8th place all-time ahead of Amanda Hockett (119).
