UCF Box Score | Iowa State Box Score

FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's softball team dropped their final two pre-conference tournament games on Saturday as they fell to UCF and Iowa State at Anderson Family Field.

Game 1, Cal State Fullerton 2, UCF 11

The Titans actually led early in this game before it got away from them towards the end.

The Titans led 2-0 after the first inning.  With two runners on, Peyton Toto had a ball that the UCF shortstop whiffed on that scored one and Bailey Wallace later brought in the second with a single to left field.

The Knights would take a 3-2 lead in the third inning and go on to score 8 more unanswered runs in the final two innings in the six inning run-rule rout.

Game 2, Cal State Fullerton 2, Iowa State 6

The Titans once again led after the first inning in the game but ultimately couldn't hang on.

Despite pounding out 10 hits, the Titans only had two runs to show for it.

Iowa State scored in the first inning but the Titans responded with two in the bottom half of the inning.

Daisy Munoz hit her third home run of the season on a blast over the LF wall that also scored Megan Delgadillo.  Those were Munoz's 100th and 101st RBI of her Titan career.

The Titans left the bases loaded in the third inning and Iowa State responded by tying the game up in the top of the fourth inning at 2-2.

The Cyclones would take the lead in the 5th inning and would score three more unanswered runs.

The sixth inning began with an amazing diving catch by Megan Delgadillo that was initially called an out.  But after an umpire's meeting, they changed the call to a single and that would lead to a different dynamic for the inning.

The Cyclones would eventually hit a three run home run to make it a 6-2 game that definitely knocked the wind of the Titans sails.

Karlie Charles picked up the win for the Cyclones after allowing 2 runs on 8 hits.  Staci Chambers took the loss after allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on five hits, four walks, and one strikeout. Raci Miranda pitched a solid scoreless 1.2 innings of relief to finish out the game for the Titans.

The Titans will now look ahead to opening up Big West Conference play.  They head to UC Davis next weekend for a three-game set beginning on Saturday at Davis.  They play a doubleheader on Saturday with the first game beginning at 1:00 pm.
