Softball Wins Two on Friday over Hawai'i, 21st Straight Series Win

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton swept Friday's doubleheader against the Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine to move to 36-12 overall and 20-0 in Big West play. Fullerton won 5-0 in game one and 11-3 in six innings in game two. The program has now won 21 straight Big West series and will go for the sweep tomorrow at 4 p.m. PT.

Kelsie Whitmore went 6-for-7 at the plate over the two games played with four runs scored. Sophie Frost (game one) and Dani Martinez both went the distance for the Titans in the circle to earn their respective wins. 

GAME ONE
The Titans took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and that was all the support that Frost needed in the circle to move to 19-3 on the year. The senior right-handed pitcher has not allowed a run in her last 22 innings in the circle. She recorded six strikeouts in her fifth complete-game shutout of the season. She has 16 wins and one save in her last 17 appearances.

Daisy Munoz's 10th home run of the season, a three-run shot, came in the aforementioned first inning. Kelsie Whitmore went 3-for-3 at the plate and was driven in by Munoz's homer. Peyton Toto was also 3-for-3 with an RBI in the sixth inning to provide a bit more cushion to Frost. KK Humphreys recorded an RBI double in the sixth inning as well, her ninth double of the season.

The team's 12 hits marked the third straight game they have recorded 10+ hits.

GAME TWO
The Titans jumped out to an early lead again, scoring two in both the first and second innings.

Whitmore singled in her first at-bat to bring home Delgadillo, extending her on-base streak to 27 and her hitting streak to 16 games. That 16-game streak is tied for the third-longest hitting streak in school history. The school record is 24. 

Humphreys' solo home run in the second was her ninth of the season. Alyssa Hernandez's RBI double was her third double of the season and brought in 

Munoz hit an RBI single in the fifth and RBI double in the sixth to score Whitmore on both occassions. Her hit in the sixth was a walk-off to end the game in six innings. She has reached safely in 27 straight games and has a 10-game hitting streak. 

Megan Delgadillo is up to 29 stolen bases on the year, the most in the Big West and the second-most in a single season in program history. The school record is 35.
