Frost Shutouts Cal Poly to Lead Softball

San Luis Obispo, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton softball earned a 5-0 win at Cal Poly on Friday night to move to 32-12 overall and 16-0 in Big West play. Sophie Frost threw her fourth complete-game shutout of the season while Julia Valenzuela led the team with two RBI. On Saturday, game two of the series will be broadcast live on ESPNU at 2 p.m. PT. The third and final game of the series will commence 30 minutes after the first game has ended be streamed live on BigWest.TV.

Frost (17-3) posted a line of: 7.0 IP, 7 H, 0 ER, 3 BB and 2 K. She has recorded a win in 14 of her last 15 appearances in the circle. And in the 15th appearance she recorded a save.

Kelsie Whitmore recorded her first of two doubles on the game in her first at-bat to extend her hitting streak to 12 games and her on-base streak to 23 games. She went 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored. Daisy Munoz extended her on-base streak to 23 games as well with a solo home run in the sixth inning.

Valenzuela was 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored to lead the team offensively.
