FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton softball won 9-2 and 9-1, respectively, on Saturday, to complete the three-game Big West series sweep of UC Santa Barbara. Fullerton is now 30-12 on the year and 15-0 in Big West play, the best start to conference play in school history. The program has swept seven straight Big West series, won 22 straight Big West games and won 19 straight Big West series.

For the three-game series, the Titans scored at least one run in 12 of the 15 innings played.

Hannah Becerra also etched her name in the record books as her 11 home runs mark the most by a freshman in a single season in school history.

GAME ONE
Sophie Frost gave up two runs in the top of the first, marking the first time the Titans had trailed in Big West play this season. However, those were the only runs Frost allowed and she ended up with the win, moving to 16-3 on the year. On March 5, Frost owned a 3-3 record and since then she has earned a win in every appearance except one, where she earned a save.

After allowing those first two runs, the Titans responded with a three-run shot in the bottom of the first by Hannah Becerra, her 10th of the season. Fullerton then scored four in the second, one in the third and one in the fourth.

The first four in the batting order, Megan Delgadillo (2 hits, 3 runs), Kelsie Whitmore (1 hit, 2 runs), Hannah Becerra (1 hit, 2 runs) and Daisy Munoz (3 hits, 2 runs) accounted for seven of the squad's 10 hits and all nine runs.

Whitmore extended her hitting streak to 10 games while both her and Munoz extended their on-base streak to 21 games.

GAME TWO
Offensively, the Titans were dialed in. The team hit four home runs in five innings including two from Whitmore, the record-setting 11th of the season from Becerra and the walk-off shot from Peyton Toto. Before Whitmore, the last Titan to homer twice in one game was Zoe Richard on Feb. 6, 2020 against Middle Tennessee.

It is the second time this season that Titans have hit four home runs in a game, the previous was in game two of the doubleheader against San Diego on March 12.

Toto's walk-off shot was her fourth home run of the season.

Dani Martinez (2-0) threw 5.0 innings and allowed just one run to go with four hits, one walk and walk strikeout.
