RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton softball moved to 21-11 (6-0 Big West) on the year with its two wins at UC Riverside on Saturday. Game one was a 13-0 victory in five innings for the Titans as pitchers Sophie Frost and Staci Chambers combined to allow just one hit for the Highlanders. Offensively, KK Humphreys led the way as she went four-for-four at the dish with five RBI, one double and one home run. Game two was a 10-2 victory in six innings as Frost and Dani Martinez allowed just one earned run between them. Kelsie Whitmore homered and doubled to drive in four runs and lead the team offensively.

Dating back to the end of the 2019 season, since the Titans didn't reach Big West Play in the 2020 shortened season, Fullerton has swept four straight Big West series.

GAME ONE
The Titans hit three home runs thanks to Kelsie Whitmore in the third, Humphreys in the third and Daisy Munoz in the fourth. It was the 10th game this season the Titans have recorded 10+ hits, led by Humphreys with four of the team's 12. Although she didn't record a hit, Irie Siofele was walked three times to take her season total to 18, the most in the Big West by a comfortable margin.

In the circle, Frost earned the win to move to 9-3 overall on the year. She went 3.0 innings allowing just one hit and one walk to go with two strikeouts. Chambers threw 2.0 innings and the only baserunner reached via error.

GAME TWO
Fullerton wasted no time jumping ahead of UCR as Whitmore smashed a two-run home run in the first inning. She has homered six times on the year. In the second, Sablan executed a squeeze play perfectly as she laid down a bunt as Julia Valenzuela was taking off for home. She later doubled in the fourth inning to bring home Humphreys, marking her second and third RBI of the season. Peyton Toto laced a 2-RBI double in the fith and Munoz hit an RBI single in the sixth to secure allow the Titans to earn the run-rule win.

For the pitchers, Frost threw the first three innings without allowing an earned run to earn the win and move to 10-3 on the year. One unearned run came across while she allowed four hits and struck out two batters. Dani Martinez came on in relief and posted almost an identical line, allowing four hits, one earned run, one walk and one strikeout.
