RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton softball picked up a 12-3 win at UC Riverside on Friday in six innings. The Titans secured their sixth straight win thanks in part to home runs from Hannah Becerra and Daisy Munoz as well as 3.2 scoreless innings from pitcher Alexia Silvas. Fullerton and UC Riverside will play games two and three of the three-game series on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. PT.

The Titans (19-11 overall, 4-0 Big West) took advantage of five Highlander (3-13 overall, 2-5 BWC) errors but seven of the squad's runs were earned. Becerra hit a two-run shot in the third to put the Titans up 3-0. That homer also placed her atop the Big West leaderboard for home runs on the season with six. However, after UCR tied the game in third, Munoz hit a three-run homer, her sixth of the season, tying Becerra and giving the Titans a 6-3 lead they would not relinquish.

Silvas entered the game with one out and a runner on second in the third and the scored tied at three. After allowing a bunt single and a stolen base, there were runners on second and third with one out. But she got out of the jam with a groundout and popout. From then on, she was cruising as she allowed just one more hit in the bottom of the sixth.
