Softball Falls at No. 4 UCLA

LOS ANGELES - Cal State Fullerton softball was defeated by the No. 4 UCLA Bruins on Wednesday by a score of of 9-1 in five innings.

The Titans struck first in the opening inning with an RBI double by freshman Hannah Becerra. KK Humphreys walked and stole second to put herself in scoring position for Becerra to drive her home. Megan Delgadillo was left stranded at third in the top of the fifth inning but that was it for the Titans offense.

UCLA then responded with four runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead. Savannah Serrata started the game for the Titans but was replaced with two outs in the first by Sophie Frost. Frost threw 3.1 innings and allowed just one earned run while walking two and striking out three batters. The Bruins added a run in the second, the fourth and then scored three in the fifth to end the game.

The Titans return to action this weekend to host the Judi Garman Classic. Spectators are not allowed at this time.
