FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton softball returns to action this weekend with their annual trip to the Mary Nutter Classic in Cathedral City, Calif. They will play a doubleheader on Saturday and another doubleheader on Sunday with all four games coming against Power 5 schools
The Titans are coming off a roller coaster of a weekend at San Diego State going 2-2 in their four games. They kicked things off with a dominant 8-3 win over BYU, but fell to the host Aztecs, 3-2, in extra innings to close out Friday. On Saturday, they were run-ruled, 11-3, in six innings by BYU before ending the weekend on a 7-4 win over Southern Utah. Overall, the Titans were outscored 20-21 and outhit 29-38.
Fullerton is off to a 6-3 record to start the season, which currently ranks second best in the Big West Conference. Offensively, they are led by senior Zoe Richard who ranks in the league's Top 3 in average (2nd; .524), on-base percentage (2nd; .610), slugging (3rd; .905), and RBI (T-3rd; 12). Freshman Megan Delgadillo aka "Cheese" has also been a key contributor out of the leadoff spot posting a .412 average with a team-high 10 runs scored. She has also swiped 10 bases on the year, making her one of just five NCAA DI athletes to have double-digit steals. In the circle, sophomore Dani Martinez continues to be the ace of the staff, posting an early 4-1 record with a pair of saves. She also has a team-low 2.59 ERA in 27 innings of work.

Sat. at 5:00 p.m. against Utah
Sat. at 7:30 p.m. against Notre Dame
Sun. at 11:30 a.m. against Oregon State
Sun. at 2:00 p.m. against No. 16 Arizona State
