SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton (13-8) split their doubleheader on Friday on the first day of the Silicon Valley Classic II. The Titans fell to Nevada, 5-0, in game one while outlasting Weber State, 1-0, in game two.

Dani Martinez got the start in game one and dominated for the first four innings only allowing a walk before the Wolf Pack got to her in the fifth. For the game, she went 6.2 innings allowing five runs on eight hits while matching her career-high with eight strikeouts. Sophie Frost got the final defensive out with a strikeout.

Alexa Neil and Irie Siofele each recorded multi-hit games with two knocks each. Ari Williams extended her hit streak to five straight games with a 1-for-3 performance. Daisy Munoz and Sam Kennedy also recorded hits in the loss.

The first half of the game was a pitchers' duel as neither team could get anything going offensively including Martinez being near perfect through four innings.

The Wolf Pack would go on to plate two runs on four hits in the fifth, two more in the sixth on a home run, and another run in the seventh.

Meanwhile, Fullerton left seven on base going 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position. Ultimately, it would be a 5-0 loss to Nevada in game one of the doubleheader.

The Titans would look to bounce back right after as they took on the Wildcats of Weber State for game two.

Taylor Dockins would get the start in the circle and have her best outing of the year. For the first time this season, she pitched past the third inning throwing her first complete game shutout of the season. In her seven innings of work, she would allow just two hits and three walks while striking out a pair.

Deshea Hill would lead the way with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Kelsie Whitmore recorded the game-winning RBI going 1-for-3 in the win. Daisy Munoz was the only other Titan with a hit in the ballgame.

Dockins dominated Weber State all game, but especially through the first three innings not allowing a hit to the Wildcats. The no-hit bid would be broken up by a leadoff double in the fourth, but the sophomore right-hander kept the success going.

The pitchers' duel stayed a scoreless affair until the top of the seventh. The inning started with a Janelle Rodriguez leadoff walk. Pinch runner Evelyn Sablan would move up to second on a sacrifice bunt and move up to third on a groundout. Whitmore would follow that with a single back up the middle to drive in the winning run.

Fullerton will close out the Silicon Valley Classic II against Northern Kentucky and host Santa Clara tomorrow morning. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m.
