FULLERTON, Calif. – With the season less than a week away, Titans softball welcomes ten newcomers to the program and this series goes "in the dugout" with each of them to get to know who they are. Next up is Evelyn Sablan.

Sablan is a 5'0" infielder from Long Beach, California. She joins the Titans after four years of varsity of softball at Polytechnic High School. With the Jackrabbits, she was a four-time First Team selection and three-time Offensive Player of the Year. She was named Rookie of the Year as a freshman and the Moore League MVP in her senior year.

"Evelyn was a top standout in the fall," says head coach Kelly Ford. "She impressed her teammates and coaches with her bat, speed and awareness on the base paths. She will definitely leave her mark on Titan Softball."

Evelyn is the daughter of Richard and Angelica Sablan and has a younger brother, Ricard. She will be majoring in criminal justice and hopes to become a crime scene investigator. When asked why she chose Cal State Fullerton, she said "CSUF has been my dream school since the 8th grade and when I got recruited, I knew this campus was my future home. I fell in love with the program, campus, and just everything about the school."

The Titans are just four days away from opening their 2019 season against Idaho State. First pitch will be February 9 at 6:00 p.m. at Anderson Family Field.
