FULLERTON, Calif. – With the season starting next month, Titans softball welcomes ten newcomers to the program and this series goes "in the dugout" with each of them to get to know who they are. Our next Titan is catcher Lauren Amezcua.
Amezcua is a 5'7" left-handed hitter from Bellflower, California who comes to Fullerton after her best season in her senior year at Downey High School. As a Viking, she was a four-year letter winner and finished her high school career with All-League honors. She also helped her team take home a league championship and was named a Scholar Athlete.
"Lauren is a work horse," says head coach Kelly Ford. "She is already connecting with our pitchers and has impressed everyon during conditioning and when she's swinging the bat. She will fit right in to our 'team first' environment as a Titan. There is no doubt, that she will have an impressive freshman season."
Lauren is the daughter of Tony and Edna Amezcua and has two older siblings, Priscilla and Tony. She will be double majoring in humanities and social studies. When asked why she chose to be a Titan, she said "I chose CSF because it felt like home. I love the campus and how close to home it is. Plus, the coaching staff is awesome and was very welcoming."

The season starts in just 35 days with Fullerton hosting the Titan Classic. The first game will be on Thursday, Feb. 7 against Idaho State at Anderson Family Field.
