Viera, Fla. – Junior Kelsie Whitmore was named to the USA Women's Baseball National Team earlier this summer and will be heading to Viera, Florida with the team to participate in the 2018 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women's Baseball World Cup.

The Women's National Team (WNT) just finished their final training game last week winning all three games including a walk-off victory over Canada in the third and final game on Sunday. In those three games, Whitmore went 3-6 with a pair of runs scored and three RBI while sporting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. She also had two innings of work on the mound allowing a run on four hits while striking out one.

Team USA will square off against Puerto Rico in its opening game on August 22 at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) at the USSSA Space Coast Complex. The game will have a free livestream that can be found HERE.
