FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton (9-9) got back to the .500 mark for the season after beating Michigan State (9-9) for the second straight game by a score of 7-1.

Sophie Frost got the start in the circle for Fullerton in this one and she did a phenomenal job. Going the distance, Frost got herself into several jams allowing nine hits and six walks in the ballgame, but she did an even better job getting out of every single one of them. In her seven innings of work, she only gave up one run and struck out three. It's her second consecutive start that she has recorded a complete game.

At the plate, the Titans were dominant yet again as the offense has been on fire in the last three ballgames. That is especially true when they're down to their final out as they put up five of their seven runs with two outs. In fact, in their last three contests, Fullerton has scored a ridiculous 18 runs when having two outs in an inning.

Today, the offense didn't have just one standout as Brooke Clemetson, Sammie Vandiver, Deshea Hill, and Zoe Richard all recorded multi-hit games and eight of the starting nine recording at least one hit in the game.

Frost set the tone early on as she got through the top of the first inning, allowing a hit, but picking up her first K of the game to end the frame. The Fullerton offense also set the tone in the first as they came up and plated a pair of runs thanks to a two-RBI single from Bryanna Ybarra.

Things only went up from there. Frost did allow a run to come across for the Spartans in the second, but it could have been much more. After a walk loaded the bases, Frost got Ebonee Echols to pop it up to short and just like that, she was out of her first jam of the ballgame. Meanwhile, the Titan offense didn't let up as Shianne Brannan would walk, steal second, advance to third on a sac bunt, and score on a wild pitch to get the run back. Fullerton would add another run thanks to Richard's first of two doubles on the night as she found the gap in left-center to bring in Vandiver.

It was basically cruise mode from that point on as Frost never surrendered another run. It wasn't easy, but she was dialed in getting out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth, a second and third jam in the sixth, and another bases loaded jam in the seventh. In her last two starts now, Frost has thrown 14 innings while only surrendering one run.

The Fullerton lineup wasn't done though as Clemetson would drive in a run in the third to add to their lead. Hill would launch it over the right-center wall for a solo shot and her first career dinger in the fourth. And just for good measure, Ari Williams found the hole in the right side for an RBI single in the sixth.

For the Titans, the 7-1 victory gives them a three-game winning streak and third straight game of scoring seven or more runs. They will look to keep it going as they get ready for the co-hosted tournament with Long Beach State this weekend. Fullerton will play five games, all at Anderson Family Field, starting with San Jose State on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
