FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team drew with Southern Utah 1-1 at home on Thursday night at Titan Stadium.

The Titans (0-3-2) came inches away from getting their first win of the season with a shorthanded roster after falling behind early in the game against the Thunderbirds (0-2-3).  

The Titans started the game strong with four shots to start the game before the Thunderbirds took the lead on a quick counter attack with a goal by Sammie Sofonia.  

The Titans would continue pressuring the Southern Utah defense but the Thunderbirds took a 1-0 lead into halftime despite the Titans outshooting them 10-to-4.  

The Titans finally found the equalizer and scored on their sixth corner kick of the game after Graci Raymond's cross found Kaylin Raibon's head for the equalizer.

The Titans continued on the attacking foot and in the 59th minute, Vanessa Buso had a shot that was inches away from being the game winner but it sailed just left of the post.

The Titans would finish the game outshooting the Thunderbirds 17-to-8 and with an 8-to-2 corner kick advantage.

Hannah Griffin made her first start in goal for the Titans and made two saves.

The Titans will remain at home and take on the University of Utah on Sunday, September 3rd with kick-off set for 1:00 p.m.
