IRVINE, Calif. - For the second week in a row Mia Ranson was named The Big West Defensive Player of the Week in Women's Soccer.
She was also named The Big West Freshman Player Of the Week in the first week and has garnered weekly awards in all three weeks to begin the 2022 season.
Ranson made 10 saves for the weekend in their trip to Utah. She made six saves against the Utah Utes in a 1-0 win and picked up her second clean sheet of the season. The Titans were outshot 16-to-7 against Utah but Ranson was once again immense in the cage. She made four saves against Southern Utah on Sunday.
Ranson currently has the second lowest Goals Against Average in the conference at .705. She has the best Save Percentage at .871. She is tied for second in the league with two shutouts.
The Titans have a strong upcoming week as they will face off against two PAC-12 opponents. They host California on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. They head to UCLA on Sunday, September 11th for a game at 5:00 P.M. The Bruins are likely to be the No. 1 team in the country after taking down #1 UNC and #2 Duke on the road this weekend.
