FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team drew at home 0-0 with the visiting Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday evening at Titan Stadium.
Both sides played 48 hours prior to the match so neither side had ideal conditions heading into the game.
The Red Raiders (1-1-2) outshot the Titans (1-1-2) 12-to-5 with Texas Tech also having 5 shots on goal to the Titan's 3 shots on goal.
Mia Ranson was once again stellar in net with 5 saves. Her counterpart, Madison White had only one save to make with her backline clearing two balls off the line.
Texas Tech had the early opportunities in the first half including a pair of shots in the 19th minute that forced Mia Ranson to make a double save. Kaytlin Brinkman would have a shot that was saved by the defense in the later stages of the first half.
In the second half, the Titans came out aggressive with Brinkman once again forcing a save in the second minute of the second half. The Titans would have two more solid opportunities in the half but Brinkman had another shot saved and Samantha McKenna just missed connecting on a cross that would've easily put the Texas Tech keeper.
It got dangerously close to a last minute goal for the visitors as Giselle Kozarski forced a save in the last minute of play and on the rebound another Texas Tech player had a shot ring off the crossbar. But after all that, the game finished with a deserved 0-0 draw for both sides.
The Titans will head out for their first away games next week with a visit to Utah. They play the University of Utah on Thursday before finishing out the weekend at Southern Utah University.
