Atlanta Primus and Jamaica Qualify for 2023 Fifa Women's World Cup

Monterrey, Mexico - Former 2019 Big West women's soccer field player of the year Atlanta Primus and the Jamaican women's national team qualified for the 2023 FIFA World Cup after Jamaica took third place in the 11th edition of the CONCACAF W Championship.

By making the semi-finals, Jamaica automatically gained qualification to the 2023 World Cup.  The Jamaicans came in third place in the tournament after defeating the Costa Rican National Team 1-0 in the third place match.

By coming in third place, Jamaica will next take on the runner-up Canada in September of 2023 in a two leg series to determine who will be CONCACAF's second representative at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Primus started in all three group stage matches against Mexico, USA, and Haiti.  She also started in the third place match against Costa Rica.

Primus is currently playing in the professional ranks in England in the FA Women's Championship for the London City Lionesses.  Last season, London City came in second place in the league.

Primus joins current Cal State Fullerton Titan, Kaya Hawkinson, as the second player to earn qualification for the 2023 Fifa Women's World Cup.  Hawkinson and the Philippines National team clinched qualification back in February in the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup.
