Titans Secure Big West Tournament Appearance with Win Over UC Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's soccer defeated UC Riverside 2-0 Sunday afternoon to secure a spot in the Big West Tournament. Fullerton finishes the regular season with a 10-9 record and a 7-3 record in Big West play.

The Titans finished the regular season with six consecutive victories, holding the opponent scoreless in five of six, to fight their way into the conference tournament. Fullerton has made eight Big West Tournament appearances under Head Coach Demian Brown.

Fullerton and UC Riverside were scoreless as the match neared halftime when Kaytlin Brinkman scored in the 41st minute off a free kick for her first goal as a Titan to put the team up 1-0. 

The Titans weren't satisfied with a 1-0 lead as Haley Brown scored in the 49th minute to extend their lead to 2-0. Brown finishes the regular season with 15 points on six goals and three assists. 

UC Irvine clinched the No. 1 seed in the Big West and will host the conference tournament. The Titans lock up the No. 3 seed and will face No. 2 seeded Cal Poly in the first round of the tournament on Nov. 6.
