Seniors Shine in Victory Over CSUN

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's soccer defeated CSUN 1-0 Thursday night for its fifth consecutive shutout victory. With the win the Titans improve to 9-9 and 6-3 in the Big West.

Even after controlling a majority of possession and creating quality scoring chances, the Titans and Matadors were scoreless at halftime. Fullerton recorded 14 shots in the first half along with seven corner kicks. The team finished the game with 20 shots and 16 corners compared to CSUN's five shots and five corners.

The scoreless tie didn't last long into the second half as Haley Brown scored in the 52nd minute. Brown now has five goals this season to go along with three assists and 14 goals for her career. Delaney Dombek Lindahl and Callie Petrey-Juarez assisted on the goal to Brown, all of which are seniors who were honored prior to the match.

With the win and UC Santa Barbara's loss Thursday, the Titans take control of the fourth and final spot in the Big West Tournament. Fullerton wraps up the regular season Sunday on the road against UC Riverside.
