Titans Shutout UC San Diego to Earn Fourth Consecutive Win

LA JOLLA, Calif. – With time winding down in the first half Emelia Owen buried a goal in the back of the net to give the Titans a 1-0 lead that Fullerton would hold on to for the remainder of the match to secure three points at UC San Diego. The Titans are on a four-game winning streak with four consecutive shutouts.

With the win Cal State Fullerton improves to 8-9 on the season and 5-3 in Big West play. With two games left in the regular season the Titans are currently tied with UC Irvine with 15 points. UCI plays CSUN Sunday evening, however it holds the tie-breaker over Fullerton with a win earlier this season.

UC San Diego had a chance to take the lead midway through the first half but Noa Schumacher made a great save to keep the game scoreless. Schumacher made eight saves throughout the match to shutout the Tritons. Schumacher has recorded three consecutive shutouts while the Titans as a team have earned four straight. 

The Titans are back in action Sunday against CSUN at Titan Stadium for Senior Day with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. PT. Cal State Fullerton Athletics and the women's soccer program will honor its seniors prior to kickoff.
