Titans Dominate Bakersfield to Take 2-0 Victory

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's soccer defeated CSU Bakersfield by a final score of 2-0 Thursday night. With the win Fullerton is 7-9-0 and 4-3-0 in Big West play.

Callie Petrey-Juarez scored the go-ahead goal in the first half of action that put the Titans up 1-0. Petrey-Juarez now has a team-high eight goals on the season. 

Fullerton didn't let up on the pressure in the second half as it earned a penalty kick in the 72nd minute. Kaya Hawkinson scored the PK to put the Titans up 2-0 for her second goal of the season. 

The Titans dominated the match, outshooting the Roadrunners 20-6 throughout 90 minutes. Noa Schumacher only faced three shots but was able to save all three to record her second shutout of the season. 

The team is back in action Sunday Oct. 24 on the road against UC San Diego.
