SAN DIEGO - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer opened up the 2021 season on Thursday with a 2-1 loss against the University of San Diego in Torero Stadium. USD jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute but the Titans equalized in the 22nd minute thanks to sophomore Meghan Schroh. USD retook the lead at the 57:53 mark and did not relinquish it despite numerous close close calls from the Titans. Schroh's equalizer came off a loose ball as USD attempted to clear the ball from its own 18-yard box. Schroh was at the top of the box and struck the ball off the half volley with her right foot and sent into the net at the top right corner. It marked her second-career goal. 

The first goal for the Toreros came off a cross into the box that Maronne Suzuki settled well, dribbled to space and buried just outside the six-yard box. The game-winning goal was a low cross from the end line that was played back into the center of the box for Bella Piete. She hit it with her first touch and Titans goalkeeper Noa Schumacher was unable to get a hand on it at that power and that close to the goal.

Fullerton and USD each took 14 shots but the Titans had seven on target to just five for the Toreros. CSF won six corner kicks to just two for USD. NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee Haley Brown led the team with six shots, three of which were on goal.

PARKING
CSUF requires a parking permit for all weekday games. Parking on campus is $10 for an All-Day permit Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 10:00 pm Friday until 5pm.  After 5pm on Friday, Permits are not required, as well as on the weekend.  Park and Pay stalls Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 10:00 pm  (Friday until 5pm) are $4 for 1-hour, $8 for 2-hours. Permits can be purchased in parking lots at the permit machines and accept only major credit cards.
