WSOC Surrenders Late PK in Friendly at No. 14 USC

LOS ANGELES - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer lost 2-1 in a friendly at USC on Thursday afternoon, the team's first preseason matchup of the season. Junior Kaytlin Brinkman scored the lone goal for the Titans in the 63rd minute. USC scored in the 48th minute to take the lead and then scored a late winner via penalty kick in the 87th. The team's played three 30-minute periods.

2021 Preseaon All-Big West honoree senior Haley Brown assisted on Brinkman's goal and also had a shot on goal of her own in 60 minutes of playing time. Sophomore goalkeeper Noa Schumacher played 42 minutes and allowed zero goals while making six saves. Freshman goalkeeper DeAira Jackson played 48 minutes in the cage and made three saves.

Emelia Owen, Karla Rodriguez and Brown each had shots on goal in addition to Brinkman.
