FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer was picked to finish second in the Big West Conference Preseason Coaches poll. It was announced on Thursday. The league also announced the Preseason All-Big West team with Haley Brown and Megan Day representing the Titans.

Fullerton, the reigning Big West regular season and tournament champions, tallied 104 votes in second place and two first-place votes. Long Beach State had 106 in first place. UC Irvine had the most first-place votes with four but totaled 94 overall in third.

The coaches selected 11 players representing eight teams to the 2021 preseason All-Big West Women's Soccer Team. The team consists of three seniors, four juniors and four sophomores.  Cal State Fullerton, Hawai'i and UC Irvine lead the way with two representatives each.

Day is one of three returning players on the team who claimed All-Big West First Team honors in 2019. Day, a defender, was also tabbed as 2019 Big West Freshman of the Year in 2019, netting three goals while anchoring a Titans defense that led the Big West, allowing only four goals in eight conference matches.

Brown earned Second-Team All-Big West honors in 2019 as she scored seven goals and assisted nine on the year. Those nine assists are the fifth-best total in a single season in school history. Two of her seven goals were match winners,  including the winner against CSUN to give the Titans the Big West regular season title.
