FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer is playing for the Big West Championship on Sunday. The Titans host the CSUN Matadors on Senior Day and despite all the potential tiebreaker scenarios, simply put, the winner of this match will win the Big West title. If the match ends in a draw, then a whole myriad of options are in play as to who wins the title. If there are co-champions, the tiebreakers would be used to see who would host the 2019 Big West Women's Soccer Tournament.

Head coach Demian Brown and his squad are 11-2-4 overall this year, 5-1-2 on the road and 6-1-2 at home. Unbeaten in the last 13 matches, CSF is sitting in a tie atop the Big West table as the team is 4-0-3 in Big West play for a total of 15 points (three for a win, one for a draw). CSUN is level on points with the Titans at 15 as it boasts a 5-2 record in conference. Last week, the Titans drew 1-1 at home against UC Santa Barbara and picked up a 1-0 win at Cal Poly thanks to Sarah Davidson's match winner.

She's also tallied 23 goals in her career, equaling 68 points, the fourth-best mark in program history. Primus is also sixth in school history with those 23 career goals. She will

Freshman defender Megan Day was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 14 as she helped the Titans to two road wins. Her and her teammates allowed just one goal total in those two matches and she scored the match-winning goal at UC Riverside.

Sophomore Kaya Hawkinson has four assists as well and is second on the team in minutes played this season behind only junior defender Delaney Dombek Lindahl. Redshirt freshman Noa Schumacher, the Oct. 28 Big West Defensive Player of the Week has recorded six shutouts on the year as the goalkeeper for the Titans and allowed just three goals in seven Big West matches, the best mark in the league.

As a team, the Titans essentially lead the Big West in every offensive category. The squad ranks second in the nation and tops in the Big West in corner kicks per match at 7.76. At 1.94 goals per game, the Titans are ranked 59th in the nation and first in the league as well.

CSUN is 11-5-3 overall (5-2 Big West) and is led by Bethany Fitzsimmons with six goals and two assists on the year.

Brown talked about the squad in-depth in this video here, breaking down the team by position group and talking about the non-conference schedule. Brown has won over 100 matches in his 12 years as head coach. He has steered the Titans to four Big West regular season championships (2007, 2012, 2014, 2015) and five Big West Tournament championships (2007, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017) representing the league as the Big West's automatic qualifier at the NCAA Tournament for four of the last six years (2013, 2014, 2015, 2017) in addition to the Titans' postseason trip in 2007.

Primus was selected as one of 11 student-athletes to be a Preseason All-Big West honoree. It is her second straight year earning the preseason accolade. As a junior, Primus was 2018 All-Conference First Team selection as she started all 18 games she played in. She scored a team-high six goals and led the team in points scored with 15 as she also dished out three assists.

The Big West Conference also announced that Titans were picked fourth in the preseason coaches poll

Along with a strong crop of newcomers, the Titans also welcome back Alba Barrios from an injury that forced her to miss the entire 2018 season. You can read more about Barrios and her journey here. She has started all 15 matches for the Titans this season and played the fourth-most minutes of the outfield players.
