FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer begins the 2019 season with three straight home matches, including two this week. First, the Titans host Arizona State on Thursday at 7 p.m. PT and then welcome Minnesota to Titan Stadium for a 5 p.m. kickoff on Sunday. Both matches will be available live on BigWest.TV.

Head coach Demian Brown and his squad earned a 2-0 win in their final exhibition match of the preseason last Saturday at CSUN. The two goals came from senior Sarah Davidson and junior Haley Brown

Brown talked about the squad in-depth in this video here, breaking down the team by position group and talking about the non-conference schedule. Brown has won over 100 matches in his 12 years as head coach. He has steered the Titans to four Big West regular season championships (2007, 2012, 2014, 2015) and five Big West Tournament championships (2007, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017) representing the league as the Big West's automatic qualifier at the NCAA Tournament for four of the last six years (2013, 2014, 2015, 2017) in addition to the Titans' postseason trip in 2007.

Senior Atlanta Primus was selected as one of 11 student-athletes to be a Preseason All-Big West honoree. It is her second straight year earning the preseason accolade. As a junior, Primus was 2018 All-Conference First Team selection as she started all 18 games she played in. She scored a team-high six goals and led the team in points scored with 15 as she also dished out three assists.

The Big West Conference also announced that Titans were picked fourth in the preseason coaches poll

Along with a strong crop of newcomers, the Titans also welcome back Alba Barrios and Jessica Simonian from injuries that forced them to miss the entire 2018 season. You can read more about Barrios and her journey here.

Looking at the upcoming opponents, the opening weekend will test the Titans. From the Pac-12, the Arizona State Sun Devils went 10-7-1 last year. This will be the second-ever matchup between the two programs as the first was on Sept. 16, 2006 and ASU won 2-0 in Tempe, Ariz. Additionally, the Golden Gophers won the Big Ten Tournament and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. It will the first time these two teams have faced each other.
