FULLERTON, Calif. – It may have only been an exhibition match, but it was a thriller from start to finish, as Katelyn Von Meter scored in the 89th minute to give CSUN dramatic 2-1 victory, Sunday evening at Titan Stadium.
The Titans dominated for most of the match, as they held a 6-1 edge in corners over the Matadors. Nano Oronoz got the Titans on the board first, as she used a slew of fantastic moves to get into the box before finding the back of the net in the 24th minute.

However, CSUN struck back just minutes later, as Alyssa Aquilar received a nice pass in the box from Bethany Fitzsimmons in the 26th minute to equalize the contest at 1-1.
Both sides were even the rest of the way, as CSUN slightly outshot Fullerton overall 8-5, but only 3-2 in the second half.
It was a fluke turnover that decided the fixture, as Von Meter won the one-on-one battle with goalie Tianna Sanders to lift the Matadors to victory.
Maddie Bennet contributed for the Titans, striking for a shot on goal, while Katelyn Patterson also put one on target.
The Titans now open up the regular season at home on Friday vs. nationally ranked BYU, Friday at 7 pm PT.
