Titans Earn Second Straight Draw on the Road

Box Score

LOGAN, Utah – The Titans came off confident in play today coming off the draw in Provo. Atlanta Primus opened strong with a long possession goal with the assist from Johana Rosas in the third minute for Cal State Fullerton (2-0-2) against Utah State (2-1-1) Sunday afternoon at Bell Field.

Samantha Koemans followed Primus's goal with her own shot in the sixth minute.  Tala Haddad would also get in on the attack with two of her very own back to back corner kicks in the seventh and eighth minute. Offensively the Titans took control dominating the field within the first 25 minutes of the game.

"I'm very proud of our women today.  To go down a player and play 50 plus minutes against a very motivated Utah State team and finish 1-1 shows a tremendous amount of maturity and discipline," said head coach Demian Brown.

In the 36th minute, the Aggies would score off a free kick from the side of the goal box with an own goal. The goal would equalize the match 1-1.

Cal State Fullerton kept the possession throughout the first half, outscoring Utah State 8-3.  The Titans also led with shots on goal 6-2.  As for corner kicks, Fullerton remained efficient as once again they outscored their opponent, 9-6.

Aggies GK Sara Cobb recorded five saves in the first half alone. Overall Cobb recorded eight saves in 110 minutes.

Fullerton GK Morgan Bertsch also played another full 110 minutes recording two saves.

As the second half was underway Fullerton began attacking the ball with speed and aggressiveness. In the 59th minute Alba Barrios would receive a red card and the Titans were forced to play with 10 players on the field for the remainder of the match.

Although the Titans were down a player they did a remarkable job covering the ground with their speed once again. During the 80th minute Fullerton's offense dominated Utah and finished the end of regulation with momentum once again.  In the 83rd minute Fullerton would head the ball to the back of the net only for it to disallowed due to jostling in the penalty box. The Titans, however, tallied an outstanding amount of shots outshooting the Aggies 15-9 overall.

This match much like Friday nights against No. 17 BYU would go into overtime.

In the first half of overtime, Sarah Fajnor came out striking in the 92nd minute with a shot which was saved by Aggies' GK Cobb. Fajnor would go to lead the match in shots with four.

Despite still being down a player the Titans would go on through the second half of overtime dominating offensively.

The Titans look forward to heading back home to train for the week as they play St. Mary's Friday at 3:00 p.m. PT in Moraga, Calif and then
