FULLERTON, Calif. – It didn't take long for the Titans to strike in this one, as Samantha Koemans' second-minute goal propelled the Titans to a 1-0 victory over San Diego State in an exhibition affair on Saturday evening at Titan Stadium.

"San Diego State showed us some things that we are definitely going to see from other Division I teams," said head coach Demian Brown. "I thought our women handled situations really well and obviously scoring early in the match is something we have been working on."

Koemans scored off an early corner in the second minute of the game. She accounted for one of four shots on the night. Despite the Titans being outshot 12-4 for the contest, Fullerton was able to keep possession of the ball and keep the pressure up all game long.

Lindsay Stasinis, Hailey Pohevitz, and Callie Petrey Juarez also recorded shots for the night.  Morgan Bertsch was excellent in goal she recorded four saves in the 90 minutes of play.

San Diego State's Aliyah Utush led all players with three shots on goal. Mia Root picked up a yellow card for San Diego State in the 59th minute.

The Titans will get the regular season going this Friday against Seattle University at 7 p.m. PT at Titan Stadium.
