Join Titans for Third-Annual Women’s Soccer Kick-Off Fundraiser

FULLERTON, Calif. – The three-time defending Big West Conference champions welcome women's soccer alumni, fans, family and supporters to the team's third-annual Women's Soccer Kick-Off Event on Saturday, Aug. 6.

The event will be hosted at Golleher Alumni House, and this year's edition will once again feature food and beverages compliments of Downtown Fullerton's The Twisted Vine, a silent auction, and a chance to mix and mingle with the team, coaching staff, and Alumni.

All proceeds will benefit the Cal State Fullerton women's soccer program.

"I am thrilled that our Wine Tasting event has become a part of our tradition," 10th-year head coach Demian Brown said. "It is an excellent way for our student-athletes, fans and families to kick off the season. We look forward to great event and an outstanding 2016 season."

This year will feature an Alumni vs. Alumni match that will kick off at 1 p.m. The Titans will group the alumni from the years of 1994-2007 to take on the alumni from the years of 2008-2015.

"There is a lot on the line with regards to bragging rights, so I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in Titan Stadium to play or cheer on your class, your generation or your decade," Brown said.

The 2016 squad will then play the Blue vs. Orange scrimmage at 2 p.m.

The 2015 Titans advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year as well as the seventh time in the program's history, and gained its tourney berth by winning its third-straight Big West Tournament title (sixth overall).

In addition, the Titans won a share of the 2015 Big West Conference regular season championship, marking the third time in the last four years (2012, 2014, 2015), the Titans earned the title as well as the program's eighth regular season championship overall.

Fullerton's record of 16-3-2 was its best since 2005, as the Titans opened the season with six consecutive wins – a new program record. In addition, Fullerton's 46 goals ranked fifth all-time in program history and were the most scored for the team since 2005. The Titans' 49 assists rated second in program history.

The Titans led the Big West Conference in goals (46), points (141), assists (49) and saves (101).

Fullerton returns 20 letterwinners to the roster including 2015 Big West Conference Goalkeeper of the Year Jennifer Stuart, Big West Second Team selection Connie Caliz and Big West All-Freshman honorees Amanda Larsson and Jessica Simonian.

Fullerton will host Pepperdine (Aug. 10) and Loyola Marymount (Aug. 12) in two exhibition matches before the season opener vs. Saint Mary's at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 19 at Titan Stadium.
