Wilson Joins Staff at Saint Mary’s
FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton volunteer assistant coach Kellan Wilson will return to his alma mater as a member of the Saint Mary's women's soccer coaching staff, it was announced by the Gaels on Tuesday.

Wilson, who was the Titans' goalkeeper coach for the last four seasons, will serve as a full-time assistant for SMC head coach Travis Clarke.

"Kellan has been a great part of our program for the last four seasons," Cal State Fullerton women's soccer head coach Demian Brown said. "We are grateful for his years of dedication and commitment.  We wish him and his family the best of luck in this new endeavor and will always consider them a part of the Titan family."

Wilson was part of an historic four-year (2012-15) stretch of Cal State Fullerton women's soccer. During his time with the Titans, Fullerton won three Big West Conference regular season championships (2012, 2014, 2015), three Big West Tournament titles (2013, 2014, 2015) and made three NCAA Tournament appearances (2013, 2014, 2015), totaling a 44-27-12 (.602) overall record and a 22-7-4 (.727) mark in the Big West Conference.

Most recently in 2015, the Titans produced their fifth consecutive winning season.

Wilson tutored Big West Conference Goalkeepers of the Year Lindsey Maricic (2013) and Jennifer Stuart as well as Big West Tournament MVP Katie Pulliam (2013).

In 2013, Maricic anchored a Titan defense that led the Big West in goals allowed (17) and goals against average (0.71) while also totaling seven shutouts. She also led the conference in saves (104), goals against average (0.73) and save percentage (.867). Maricic ranked among the top 100 goalkeepers in the country in four different categories: No. 10 in save percentage (.867), No. 62 in saves per game (5.20), No. 33 in goals against average (0.730) and No. 35 in saves (104).

In 2015, Stuart ranked fourth in the Big West Conference with a 0.86 goals against average, second with an 0.837 save percentage and her 4.28 saves per game also rated second in the league. In Big West Conference games only, she led the league in goals against average (0.39) after allowing only three goals in seven matches. She also led the league in save percentage (.900) and shutouts (4).

As a collegian, Wilson played four seasons for the Gaels in 1999-01 and 2003, leading the West Coast Conference in saves three times with 115 stops in 2000, 85 more in 2001, and 110 in 2003 as a senior.

Following his career at Saint Mary's, Wilson's playing career included professional stints overseas in Germany with VFL Osnabruck (2005-08) and Finland with Helsinki IFK (2010-11), helping the latter to the championship of the Finnish 2nd Division, and a stop with the San Francisco Seals in the USL's Premier Development League in 2008-09 where he stepped away from his spot in net to lead the team in goals.

Wilson's coaching experience includes three years as the junior varsity coach at Acalanes High School in Lafayette, Calif., one season at his alma mater in 2008-09, and one year with the Seals in 2009-10.

Wilson graduated from Saint Mary's College with a bachelor's degree in communications in 2003.
