Orlando, Fla. – Former Cal State Fullerton women's soccer player Christina Burkenroad was signed by the Orlando Pride, it was announced by the club on Wednesday.

Burkenroad, Orlando's second pick (No. 15 overall) in the 2016 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) College Draft has been training with the team since the start of the 2016 season.

"I am extremely proud of Christina," Cal State Fullerton women's soccer head coach Demian Brown said. "This step in her professional career simply reminds every one of her incredible determination, work rate and perseverance that has made her the person and soccer player that she is today."

The San Diego native had an extraordinary senior season as well as four-year career at Cal State Fullerton.

Burkenroad departed Fullerton with 66 career points ranking fourth all-time in program history. In addition, her 24 career goals tie for fourth all-time at CSF and her eight career game-winning goals also rate fourth. Burkenroad's 18 career assists rank second all-time at CSF.

A two-time Big West Conference First Team selection (2014 & 2015), Burkenroad was also named the Big West Conference Tournament MVP twice (2014 & 2015), while helping the Titans to three NCAA Tournament appearances (2013, 2014, 2015), three Big West Conference regular season titles (2012, 2014, 2015) and three Big West Conference tourney championships (2013, 2014, 2015).

Following her senior season, Burkenroad was named to the NSCAA All-West Region First Team and voted the Big West Conference Midfielder of the Year.

She finished the 2015 season with 11 goals (3 game winners), 11 assists (7 game-winners) and 33 points starting all 21 matches for Cal State Fullerton (16-3-2).

In Titan single-season history, her 33 points rank fourth, 11 goals tie for sixth and 11 assists rank second while her seven game-winning assists set a new Cal State Fullerton single-season record.

Her 11 assists led the league and ranked ninth in the country.

Orlando will play on the road Friday visiting the Houston Dash.
