A Trio of Titans Named to NSCAA All-West Region First Team

FULLERTON, Calif. – For the first time in their respective careers, Cal State Fullerton's Morgan Batcheller, Christina Burkenroad and Rebecca Wilson were all named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division I Women's All-West Region First Team. The trio had previous collected second team honors, but after turning in three superb senior seasons on the pitch, the trio garnered first team accolades.

A defender for the Titans, Batcheller finished her senior season starting in all 21 games as she helped Cal State Fullerton record eight shutouts on the year. She did a solid job helping limit opponents to just 22 goals, while leading Fullerton to an impressive 9-1 record at home.

Offensively, the Carlsbad, Calif., native notched three goals, one of which was a game-winner, and one assist in 2015 for a total of seven points.

Burkenroad, a senior midfielder, posted a stellar final year on the pitch with 11 goals, three of which were game-winners, 11 assists and 33 points. She set a pair of Big West Conference Tournament records after recording a hat trick in the semifinal contest and eventually helped the Titans to their third straight Big West Conference Tournament title en route to being named MVP of the tournament.

The product out of San Diego, Calif., led the conference in assists and posted a school-record seven game-winning helpers on the year. She concluded her collegiate career nationally ranked in the top 50 in assists per game (0.52), points per game (1.57), total assists (11) and total points (27).

Rounding out the Titans who collected first team accolades is Wilson, a forward out of Placentia, Calif., who had a career year as a senior at Cal State Fullerton after recording a team- and conference-leading 19 goals, 10 assists and 48 total points to rank third nationally in goals and points.

Wilson set a Cal State Fullerton school record with 10-game winning goals in a single season, which was also tops in the NCAA. She was nationally ranked in the top 50 in nine categories and collected her second consecutive Big West Conference Offensive Player of the Year award to go along with back-to-back Big West Conference First Team accolades.

In their final year playing collegiate soccer, the trio led the Titans to their third-straight Big West Conference regular-season and tournament title before going on to make their third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Cal State Fullerton finished the year with a 16-3-2 overall record and a No. 25 national ranking.
