FULLERTON, Calif. – In the final minute of double overtime, Cal State Fullerton conceded a penalty kick that Jocelyn Loomis converted to the left corner for Denver as the Pioneers left Titan Stadium with a 2-1 victory on Friday night.

In the 110th minute, a Titan player was whistled for handball in the box, setting up Denver's (1-1-1) golden goal as Loomis buried her second goal of the year to the far corner past a diving Morgan Bertsch.

The Titans (0-2-1) have now lost back-to-back games at Titan Stadium for the first time since Sept. 28, 2012, after outshooting their opponents for two consecutive matches.

Fullerton outshot Denver 18-4 in the game, putting eight of those efforts on frame, but the Titans were trailing in the 72nd minute after Shannen Johnson's shot deflected off a Titan defender and bounded back to Taylor Ivins. The midfielder recorded her first goal of the season with a dropping shot that sailed over Bertsch but under the crossbar at the far post.

After missing on several close chances, Fullerton evened the game in the 82 minute as sophomore Jazzmin Mancilla carried a ball over the top of the defense, dropping in front of freshman Connie Caliz. The rookie controlled the touch and with a half volley, hammered the equalizer to the far post past an outreached Cassidy Rey.

Fullerton junior forward Christina Burkenroad missed on several close chances, the first just 13 seconds into the game as Sarah Fajnor played her a pass that sliced through defense and left Burkenroad one-on-one with Rey, but the Denver goalkeeper was able to stuff the shot at the near post.

In the 10th minute, Fullerton's Adriana Gjonovich also narrowly missed the target on a rocket that sailed just wide of the goal.

Burkenroad led the Titans with five shots, and in the 63rd minute, she beat two Denver defenders in the box and was one-on-one was again with Rey, but her effort was narrowly tapped wide of goal by the goalkeeper's fingertips.

In the first overtime, Fajnor also missed high on a shot and header off two Caliz corner kicks.

The Titans return to action on Sunday, hosting Georgia at 1 p.m. at Titan Stadium.
