Getting to Know Kaycee Hoover

FULLERTON, Calif. – In February, Cal State Fullerton women's soccer head coach Demian Brown inked his 2014 signing class to National Letters of Intent.

Throughout the spring, FullertonTitans.com will "Get to Know" the newest Titans, that will step on campus for the 2014-15 academic year.

The sixth 2014 Titan signee to join
FullertonTitans.com for the Q&A is Kaycee Hoover of Troy High School in Fullerton.

Kaycee was named to the 2013-14 All-County girls soccer second team following her senior season.

FullertonTitans.com: Why did you decide to attend Cal State Fullerton and play for the Titans?

Kaycee: I decided to attend Cal State Fullerton and play for the Titans because I've lived in this area my entire life. I've watched the Titans play since I was little, and I was even a ball girl at some of the games. Once I made the decision to play at the collegiate level, although I considered other schools, I just knew Cal State Fullerton would be a perfect fit for me. Attending CSF will keep me close to home, and playing for the community I grew up in means a lot to me.

FullertonTitans.com: Graduation from Troy High School is just a few months away. What are your thoughts on attending college across the street from your high school?

Kaycee: My thoughts on attending college right across the street from my high school are such that even though I know Cal State Fullerton is close by, it will be completely different from high school. I will get the chance to experience a totally different environment of people and education.

FullertonTitans.com: Cal State Fullerton head coach Demian Brown has described you as a player that can play both forward and in the midfield. What would you describe your style of play as?

Kaycee: I would describe my style of play as a player who enjoys scoring goals from the striker position, but with my success in the center midfield, I am always looking to connect with forwards and outside mids to create plays and get behind the opponent's defense. I play with a high concern of keeping possession of the ball and my favorite thing about the game is when a team can maneuver the ball flawlessly through the center of an opposing team.

FullertonTitans.com: Your sister, Shea,  plays soccer at Long Beach State. What are your thoughts on playing against her next season?

Kaycee: I've played next to my sister since we were little girls, so to finally play against her is something I'm really looking forward to. There's always been a sibling rivalry between us, so it will definitely be an intense game and I will not hesitate to say that the Titans will come out on top!

FullertonTitans.com: What should Cal State Fullerton fans know about you?

Kaycee: Cal State Fullerton fans should know that I love to put on a good show that comes from hard work, high standards and great soccer every game.

FullertonTitans.com: Your favorite travel destination and why?

Kaycee: I don't have a favorite travel destination because I don't travel much outside of soccer travel. If I had to pick a favorite place that I have visited with my club team, it would be Colorado. I love the outdoors, nature and all of the beautiful green scenery in Colorado.

FullertonTitans.com: If you could meet any three people, dead or alive, who would they be and why?

Kaycee: If I could meet any three people dead or alive, the first would be President John F. Kennedy because he was such a popular President and I am fascinated by all the conspiracy theories surrounding his assassination. Second, would be Steven Morrissey, the lead singer of my favorite band, The Smiths. I think he is a great musician. Lastly, I would love to meet Lionel Messi because I believe he is the greatest soccer player in the world.

FullertonTitans.com: What are your hobbies/activities away from the field?

Kaycee: My hobbies/activities away from the soccer field are reading, watching movies, hanging out at the beach and long boarding.
