2014 Spring ScheduleFULLERTON, Calif. – The 2013 Big West Conference tournament champions begin preparation for the 2014 season on Friday, hosting their first spring game of the year at Titan Stadium.
The action begins at 7 p.m., Friday against Cal Baptist, and admission to all spring games is free.
The Lancers completed the 2013 season with a record of 12-5-1, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
The Titans return to the pitch following the 2013 season, which included a first-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament as well as a 2013 Big West Tournament championship.
Returners for 2014 include sophomore defender Morgan Batcheller - a NSCAA All-West Region third team selection. Big West second team junior midfielder Chelsey Patterson is also set to return to the pitch along with defender Jazzmin Mancilla, a member of the Big West Conference freshman team.
Sophomore Christina Burkenroad finished 2013 with two goals and one assist, and will be Fullerton's top returning leading scorer.
Sophomore defender Colleen Ortega will return to the backline following a season where Fullerton's defense emerged as one of the best in the league, ranking atop the Big West statistical rankings in fewest goals allowed (17), goals against average (0.71), and saves (113), while standing tied for third in shutouts (7).
The Titans will play a seven-match schedule in the spring, hosting six games at Titan Stadium. Admission is free of charge for spring matches played at Titan Stadium.
