Women Golfers in 10th Place at Cal Poly Event

Arroyo Grande, Calif. - Freshman Deidra Crabtree carded a 5-over par 77 to lead Cal State Fullerton to a tenth-place standing after the first round Sunday of the Lamkin Grip/Cal Poly Invitational Women's Golf Tournament at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course.

Crabtree is tied for 20th place overall. The first-round leaders are Breanna Paiz of Xavier and Samantha Saffold of Sacramento State with one-under 71s.

Xavier leads the team standings with a four-person nine-over-par 297 total, one stroke ahead of Cal State Northridge. Northern Arizona is third at 300, followed by Sacramento State (306) and Cal Poly (308). The Titans are at 320, tied with University of Portland.

There are 16 teams and nine individuals in the two-day tournament.

The other Titan scores: Neomi Hunt at 79; Jessica Ko at 80; Kristen Aiu at 84 and Taylor Fowler at 85.

Monday's final round begins at 8 a.m.
