San Luis Obispo, Calif. - Tisha Alyn Abrea shot a 74 and Taylor Fowler finished in a tie for fourth place among individuals Tuesday as Cal State Fullerton moved up one more notch to finish in third place at the Big West Conference Women's Golf Championship Tournament at San Luis Obispo Country Club.
The Titans, who finished in seventh place in each of the past two renewal seasons, totaled 920 strokes, 56 over par. UC Davis won the team title for the fourth year in a row at 898 and UC Irvine was second at 911. Following the Titans were Long Beach State (924), Cal Poly (931), Cal State Northridge (936) and UC Riverside (950).
Davis' Bev Vatananugulkit was the individual winner at 7-over-par 220. Fowler came in at 227 (76-74-77) while Abrea tied for eighth at 229 (77-78-74). The other Titan scores were Si Ri Lee at 235 and Kathryn New and Neomi Hunt at 236.
