UC Irvine's Michelle Park and Michelle Yang rank one-two individually to lead the Anteaters to the first-round lead Sunday of the Big West Conference Women's Golf Championships at San Luis Obispo Country Club.
Park shot a 1-over 73 and Yang came in at 2-over 74 and UCI's team score was 300.
Cal State Fullerton sits in fifth place at 319 strokes after rounds of 76 by Taylor Fowler, 77 by Tisha Alyn Abrea, 82 by Se Ri Lee and 84 by Kathryn New. Neomi Hunt shot 85.
UC Davis is in second place at 305 followed by Long Beach State at 306, Cal State Northridge at 313, Fullerton, Cal Pol at 320 and UC Riverside at 322.
The second round will be played Monday and the final round on Tuesday. UC Davis has won the title the past three seasons.
