San Luis Obispo, Calif. - Alice Kim shot an even par 72 to lead her UC Davis team to an 8-stroke lead after the first round of the Big West Conference Women's Golf Championships Sunday at San Luis Obispo Country Club.

The Aggies totaled 298 strokes, 10 over par, to outscore runnerup UC Irvine at 306.

Cal State Fullerton is in seventh place with a score of 338. Taylor Fowler shot a 10 over 82 to pace the Titans. She was followed by Kristen Aiu at 83, Alicia Chavez at 86, Neomi Hunt at 87 and Diedre Crabtree at 92.

The remaining team scores: Long Beach State 307, UC Riverside and Cal State Northridge 317 and Cal Poly at 324.

Round two will be played Monday, weather permitting.
