Women Golfers in 9th

Trabuco Canyon, Calif. - Taylor Fowler carded a 154, Kristen Aiu is a stroke behind and Cal State Fullerton is in ninth place after Monday's first two rounds of the Anteater Invitational Women's Golf Tournament at Dove Canyon Country Club.

The Long Beach State team, which had four players in the top 15, leads with a 36-hole total of 592 (292-300) and sits on top of the leaderboard, two shots ahead of Portland State at 594 (296-298). Host UC Irvine (301-305) and Nevada (300-306) are tied for third with a two-round score of 606, while UC Riverside is fifth at 619. Fullerton's score is 630.

Portland State's Lauren Taylor leads the field with a one-over par 143 (71-72) followed by Long Beach State's Reina Rogers at 145 (74-71). Britney Yada of Portland State is third after carding a 146 (69-77), while UC Riverside's Amelia Ek shot a tournament best 68 on the first round which tied the UCR school record and is tied for fourth with Long Beach State's Noelle Zavaleta at 147.

Fullerton's other scores were Neomi Hunt at 159, Deidre Crabtree at 173 and Kaori Suda at 166.

The second round of 18 holes will be played Tuesday with a shotgun start.
