Irvine, Calif. - Host Cal State Fullerton's men's team holds the team lead after two rounds of the inaugural Folino Invitational Golf Tournament for men and women Monday at Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine.

The Titans shot 12-over-par 580 over 36 holes on a blustery and rainy day to take a 3-stroke lead over Cal Poly and a 6-stroke margin over Cal State Northridge and UC Irvine in the 10-team field.

Fullerton's women's team is in fifth place in an 8-team field at 318 at the halfway point of the 36-hole tourney. Portland State is the leader at 15-over-par 303, 3 strokes better than Long Beach State.

There is a six-way tie for first place among the men's individuals at par 142 in Geoff Gonzalez of Cal Poly, Andrew Gunson of UC Santa Barbara, Jake Sarnoff of LMU, Nick Ellis of Fullerton, Chase Goodvin of Cal State Bakersfield and Ryan McCormick of St. John's.

The women's leader is Lauren Taylor of Portland State at 2-under-par 70. Two strokes back are Patty Chawalitmetha of UC Irvine, Samantha Saffold of Sacramento State and Simone Hoey of Long Beach State. Fullerton's Taylor Fowler is tied for fifth with a 74.

The final 18 holes for each gender will be played Tuesday with fair but cool weather predicted.
