Men 5th, Women 6th

Bakersfield, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton's men are fifth and the women are sixth after the first round of the Cal State Bakersfield Invitational Golf Tournament at Bakersfield Country Club Monday.

Jake Goliembewski and Dakota Duerr each shot a 73 to pace the Titan men to a score of 298. Cal Poly's "A" team came in at 287 followed by Cal State San Marcos at 296, Cal Poly "B" at 296, Bakersfield College at 297 and the Titans and CSU Bakersfield at 298.

On the women's side, Deidre Crabtree paced the Titans with an 83. Taylor Fowler carded an 84 as the Titans shot 342 to trail Cal Poly at 313, UC Riverside at 323, Seattle at 324, Cal State Northridge at 331 and CSU Bakersfield at 334.

Cal State Bakersfield has announced it is dropping both men's and women's golf after this season unless \$1.9 million can be raised which also would cover wrestling and women's tennis.

The final round of 18 holes is scheduled for Tuesday.
