Genavive Dodge shot a 1-over-par 73 for the early lead and teammate Tai Jade Kliebphipat came in at 75 for third place as Gonzaga took a 3-stroke lead over host Cal State Fullerton after the first 18 holes Sunday of the Folino Invitational men's and women's intercollegiate golf tournaments at Industry Hills Golf Course at Pacific Palms Resort.
Gonzaga's team score was 301 to top Fullerton at 304. Taylor Fowler and Kathryn New led the Titans with 3-over 75s.
Long Beach State and Montana were tied for third at 311.
Play was on the challenging Zaharias course in brisk weather.
The second of three rounds of 18 will be played Monday.
