Freshman Tisha Alyn Abrea and junior Taylor Fowler each carded a 54-hole score of 233 to lead Cal State Fullerton to a tenth-place finish Tuesday in the season-opening 22-team Circling Raven Invitational Women's Golf Tournament hosted by Gonzaga.

In her first collegiate tourney, Abrea (Murrieta Vista HS) shot 76-82-75 for a 17-over par total. Fowler came in at 75-80-78. Neomi Hunt totaled 236 followed by another freshman, Se Ri Lee (Tustin HS), at 239 and Kristen Aiu at 241 for a team total of 938 strokes (74 over par of 864).

Washington State won the team title with a score of 913 or 49 over). Individual honors went to Caitlin McClery of Seattle with an even par 216 (70-70-76). Runnerup 5 strokes back was Monica Jung of Southern Utah at 221 (75-74-72).

Fullerton's second tournament will be at the Rose City Collegiate hosted by Portland State at Langdon Farms Golf Course in Aurora, Oregon on Sept. 26-27.
